Brokerage: RETRIEVER
RETRIEVER was built in 1997 by the Atlantic Boat Company on their venerable Duffy 42 hull as a heavy-duty, commercial pilot and towing boat. Her construction and her mechanical systems were built first-rate and she has been meticulously maintained by both her original and present owners. The Duffy 42 has a well-earned reputation as an excellent sea boat. She is powered by a CAT 3406E 800 HP, which is one of the best engines ever built by Caterpillar; RETRIEVER produces a solid cruising speed of 21 knots at 70% engine load burning 28gph, which is excellent fuel economy for a boat of this size.
Her present owner purchased her three years ago and began the conversion to a pleasure boat. Her hull has been beautifully awlgripped and belowdecks completely refinished. The pilothouse walls remain covered in blue carpet, installed by her first owners. RETRIEVER would make a great boat for an offshore sportfisherman or anyone whose tastes run on the simpler side, but really uses their boat.
